Currently, Iran Khodro and Saipa are the two main poles of the country’s automotive industry, accounting for more than 90 percent of domestic production. These companies, along with a series of component manufacturing companies, have formed a large chain of related industries that have created thousands of direct and indirect jobs.

However, the automotive industry faces problems such as international sanctions, currency restrictions, technological obsolescence, poor product quality, and customer dissatisfaction. Also, the mandatory pricing of automobiles has caused market fluctuations and created rents.
